❀  4 Seasons : Summer

We continue to publish international projects from the “4 Seasons” series on Behance! The founders of the series of projects Sylvie D. from Canada and Dmitry Krasyuk from Ukraine with great pleasure present to your attention the project "Summer", which united 80 incredible artists and photographers from 27 countries, the project is complete.

As with the Spring project, choosing the image for the Summer project cover was difficult. Each photo, each work would have magnificently illustrated the project. Among all these amazing works, we couldn't resist Pina's painting which touched our hearts. Thanks a million, Pina!

Eleven artists and photographers submitted poems and poetry to us for the Summer project. In the soon-to-be-published project The Poetry Album of the 4 Seasons series, we have brought together their texts as well as the six poems from the Spring project. We sincerely thank them!!

We want to thank and congratulate all the artists and photographs for their incredible participation. You are AMAZING!

Autumn is the time to collect the harvest, sum up, therefore our creative team is preparing the next project from the 4 Seasons cycle, "Autumn", but also wants to sum up the interim summary and we invite 100 co-authors to take part in it. Exactly one hundred views of Autumn through the eyes of photographers and artists! 100 versions of Autumn that the world should see.

All works are presented in the alphabetical order (in English) of their countries, from Australia to the United States of America. Good viewing!

One Tree Hill Lookout is in Ararat, Victoria. After winter the countryside in Australia looks lovely and green but come summer it can be very dry and parched, as you can see from this image. One Tree Hill Lookout has 360 degree sweeping views and is only a ten minute drive from the centre of the town of Ararat.

Summer

Summer breeze on wave crests glistening in the sun, shadows and
light dance together, playing, having fun, the distant sound of a
sirens song, helps us find our way, to say a prayer and give thanks
and great another day.

My flaming summer

When I think about this exhibition with so many artists from all over the world,
contrasting seasons dance in my mind! Life bursts into rich, brilliant colors.
For now, flames of summer, a symphony of heat.

This image was taken on a summer day - full of the heat of northeastern Brazil - and for me it resembles a small sun in its first rays at dawn.
Every year, the arrival of summer brings me a feeling that takes me back to the old days, still in my teens, when this season corresponded to school holidays.
How pleasant was the sweet youthful anticipation of imagining living warm, sunny days away from trials and worries, bringing an enormous feeling of well-being, such as those contained in these verses by the duo Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse, which can be appreciated in the vigorous performance of Michael Bublé (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edwsf-8F3sI):

" Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by
You know how I feel ...
Dragonfly out in the sun,
you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun,
you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me ...
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life ...
And I'm feeling good."

The Last Summer

Because a local leader had to go through this area for inspection, the local government ordered the improvement of the landscape along the line, and a large number of excavators were used to remove plants. The beauty of innocent wildflowers ends here.

The Sun

The sun is especially visible in summer. But he can always be near us, in us, even in complicated moments. Some people radiate like the sun and bring warmth and comfort and a lot of happiness. You have to know how to appreciate being at their side.

Red poppies:
No fire burns like red poppies when sunrays flood it,
it is heaven's most beautiful reward and shows the power of good.
As delicate and fine as it may seem, it defies even strong winds,
rises from the earth crumb to find its happiness here.

Roter Mohn:

Days Are Long And
The Sun Is Bright
The Sky Is Blue With
Blazing Sunlight
It Sweats A Lot
And Sometimes Exhausts
But Then Enters A Cool Breeze
And Freshness Restocks

Just staying on the topic of climate events, I thought of an image that depicted the beauty but at the same time also the strength of nature. It's a strong storm, a lot of fear, but fortunately, in the place where the photograph was taken, it didn't go any further, unfortunately in the immediate vicinity, it destroyed vineyards and even homes, this is now the face of these extreme events. Until a few years ago we were used to seeing them only on TV, today unfortunately we see them first hand. What can I say, you have expressed your way of seeing this planet in an impeccable way, unfortunately as you rightly said, interests have the upper hand over reason and not only that, I would also add madness combined with power.

Between Kyoto and Osaka, remain a few paddy fields in residential areas. I started shooting them with my analog cameras in Black and White from planting to harvesting (June to October 2022). Unfortunately, they will surely disappear so this video and photos are an attempt at immortalising what is left of the rice fields in the city.

Summer sunshine, be smiling and shinning,

Sweet fragrance, be swaying in the summer,
Shining life, trembling in praise from the birds.

SUMMER

One morning I woke up, and I was traveling.
On one side the Sea,
On the other a deep, bluish darkness.
Up the dream of the Sun,
An iris about to be born in the immensity
Of the Universe.

Below, our feet,
Suddenly perched on the white sand,
Almost floating, barely revealed.

Four cardinal points
Rotating between your heart and mine,
Marine and stellar moebius
That comes and goes forever,
It passes through us, it guides us
Through boats, wings or thoughts.

The shore then catches us
With its silence of foam and wind,
Hair of the ages, the hours,
The song or roar of life.

Compass, North Star unfolded
Between the underground and the heights:

Like a mirage,
From childhood of golden lips
Come on, between waves,
Sapphire salt and polyhedral cloud,
Passing in the amazement of the cycles.

Emmanuel Geitz.

Surreal hot red cherry

A short story in which I tried to convey the atmosphere of summer in a fabulous interpretation. In the center of events are simple still lifes with cherries, around which various phenomena occur: raindrops, conveying the mood of summer coolness, are replaced by bright yellow sunlight, turning into fire, symbolizing the warmth and comfort of a home. Then the cherry is moved into porcelain cups, from which light pours out, poured from a teapot that flew in on a cloud. Falling flower petals, as if flying off those painted on the cups, attract a dragonfly perched on a flying cloud...

The summer knows
The poem/song « The Summer Knows »

The summer smiles, the summer knows
And unashamed, she sheds her clothes
The summer smooths the restless sky
And lovingly she warms the sand on which you lie
The summer knows, the summer's wise
She sees the doubts within your eyes
And so she takes her summer time
Tells the moon to wait and the sun to linger
Twists the world 'round her summer finger
Lets you see the wonder of her arm?
And if you've learned your lesson well
There's little more for her to tell
One last caress, it's time to dress for fall

Le poème/chanson « The Summer Knows »

Et si tu as bien appris ta leçon
Il n'y a pas grand-chose de plus à dire pour elle
Une dernière caresse, il est temps de s'habiller pour l'automne

It was taken not so far from my house in southside park on top of a valley there. They have various flowers there, one of them being Queen Anne's Lace. The background is the valley which has trees and a view of the cityscape normally, but I blurred it out, so there is only a hint of the view of my city. So, it is part cityscape as well.
